Online Deployment Report Guide
This guide will walk you through the steps to provide us with your vCenter, vSphere and ESX software license information.
Who should complete the Online Deployment Report?
The data collection can be performed by the VMware System Administrator (or IT person with admin permissions).
Step 1
Answer product related questionnaire
In order to provide you with an accurate report on your software licenses, we'll need you to answer questions related to your IT environment and deployments of VMware software.
Step 2
Download and run vCollector
Technical Requirements

vCollector must be run from a machine that meets the following requirements and that is able to connect to the target vCenter or vSphere host.

PowerShell 3.0 or higher (pre-installed on Windows 8+ and Windows Server 2012+)

PowerCLI (available here)
​Instructions
​
Repeat these instructions once for each set of linked vCenters and standalone ESXi hosts

Save the vCollector text file to a machine that meets the above technical requirements

Change the file extension from "txt" to "ps1"

Right-click on vCollector and select “Run with PowerShell”

When prompted, enter the name or IP address of the vCenter or vSphere host to be scanned

Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each vCenter and standalone vSphere host

The output files will be saved to a folder named “VMware Data” in the same location the script was run from
Step 3
Complete the VMware Environment Details Tab
Please download the VMware Environment Template and populate the required environment details. Once completed, upload the file at the link provided.
Step 4
Submit your Data
Once you've completed all product specific tabs, confirm your contact details, and click submit. Your data will then be securely sent to VMware for review.
Step 5
Certificate Upload
As the final step, upload the VMware Certificate of Software License Deployment (found in the notification email) at the link provided.

Our team will review your submission within 48 hours and notify you if anything else is required.

Click on each product-specific data collection tab and follow the data collection instructions. Be sure to upload the requested file and click save and continue after completing each product tab.
